
Police inspector, David Martin is alerted of a murder by his co-detective Arthur Hobbs. He brings David to the murder scene and after taking several photographs of the victim, he is identified as Gregoritsch Vasilev. David discovers the murder weapon on Vasilev's corpse and takes it in for evidence. Whilst in his office, David is summoned to the office of the harsh commissioner, Hans von Kolbeit. Hans demands the suspect be found immediately. David and Arthur go to the house of distinguished lawyer Jan Blazevic, who shows signs of distress when the weapon is presented to him, David decides to take him in but he ultimately walks free.
