Set in Tampoi, Johor (near Johor Bahru), Keluang Man made his first appearance in an alley where a man is trying to rob a girl. Since then, Keluang Man has been media's most wanted. Keluang Man's real name is 'Borhan' and he is actually one of the mental patients in Tampoi Mental Hospital. The hospital security makes it hard for Keluang Man to act during daylight, so he decided only to fight for justice at night.

The first season of Keluang Man introduces Borhan, a resident of Hospital Bahagia in the fictional Malaysian town of Tumpoi, who secretly becomes the masked crime-fighter Keluang Man. Although he possesses no traditional superpowers, he relies on courage, agility, instinct and unconventional tactics to protect innocent people. He is eventually joined by Samad, also known as Tiong Man, and together they confront unusual criminals and colourful villains, including Meow, Johan Hitam and Majid Kilat. Their adventures frequently frustrate Inspector Sahab, who regards the mysterious vigilante as a nuisance, while reporter Kathy Ismail becomes increasingly interested in his identity. Combining slapstick comedy, action, satire and distinctly Malaysian characters, the season establishes the series' playful interpretation of the superhero genre.
