The film tells the story of how Vladimir Mayakovsky created his works. He did not need the silence of a study; he created constantly—everywhere and in any setting. The picture includes archival footage, including material from 1917, as well as Mayakovsky’s drawings. Viewers can also see the poet’s working notebook: on the left-hand pages he wrote down thoughts and images, and on the right-hand pages he shaped them into poetic lines.
How Mayakovsky Worked was directed by Viktor Morgenshtern and Fyodor Tyapkin.
How Mayakovsky Worked runs for 23min, and was released in 1947.
