Dorothy Dandridge: Singing at Her Best

Overview

Legendary entertainer Dorothy Dandridge -- the first black woman to be nominated for a Best Actress Oscar (for director Otto Preminger's Carmen Jones in 1954) -- shows off her vocal talents in this collection of vintage performances. An amalgamation of movie trailers and feature-film clips, this fitting musical tribute includes the songs "Blow Out the Candles," "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" and "Swing for My Supper."
